The Cyke cyclo-logistics solution has integrated the geolocation APIs of Connected Cycle into its tool, allowing cyclo-logisticians to obtain precise and robust geolocation of their cargo bike fleets, independently of their couriers’ phones.
Developed within the cyclo-logistics company Cargonautes, Cyke was designed to address the unique challenges of this market while integrating into intermodal transport flows. Through its interface, Cyke optimizes interactions between order givers, salespeople, dispatchers, and couriers.
Upstream, order givers can easily place orders or integrate Cyke with standard e-commerce plugins (Shopify, WooCommerce) or EDI (Dachser, Heppner). They have full visibility over ongoing requests and the execution of requested deliveries.
Cyke enables the easy construction of optimized cyclo-logistics routes by incorporating all job constraints: pick-up/drop-off locations, times, parcel sizes, etc., and assigning these routes to couriers and cargo bikes. The tool then provides the dispatcher with a real-time view of operations, allowing them to handle incidents: delays, failed deliveries, etc.
Cyke offers couriers the optimal interface for carrying out their routes using a smartphone application (Android and iOS): loading assistance, schedule, detailed information, delivery note signatures, photos, incident reports, etc.
Moreover, Cyke allows cyclo-logisticians to manage the scheduling of courier teams and monitor the condition of rolling stock. The solution also shows the company’s performance through a large number of operational and commercial indicators: business volume and number of hours driven, distance and duration of routes, as well as the maintenance cost of the bike fleet.
Used by more than 30 cyclo-logistics companies, Cyke has already operated more than half a million deliveries.
The integration with Fleet, Connected Cycle’s fleet management solution, allows Cyke to offer its clients greater robustness. Instead of using couriers’ phones to provide the bike’s position, the latter is geolocated by Connected Cycle’s high-precision cc521 tracker (4G/GPS/Wifi), permanently integrated onto the cargo bike and connected to it.
On the one hand, couriers are relieved of a function impacting their smartphone battery, and on the other hand, the cyclo-logistician and their clients have precise, complete information without risk of interruption or error. Moreover, Connected Cycle’s trackers accurately report the kilometers traveled by each bike, allowing precise monitoring and predictive maintenance of the fleet.
The integration of the two solutions is a real asset for cyclo-logisticians wishing to optimize their operations.
